Meet Ruth Sallinger, of Rootie’s Pickles, in Cartersville, Georgia.
Though Rootie’s signature offering is a sweet-hot garlic pickle based on a recipe from Ruth’s mother, the company also offers a spicy variety and a relish.
Recalling the brand’s origins, Ruth said, “Unbeknownst to me, a friend took his jar of Rootie’s to a restaurant and had the chef taste them. He placed an order on the spot.” With the help of the Georgia Tech Food and Beverage Accelerator, she added, “I would like to expand the product line [and] meet, network, and align myself with business experts and industry leaders.”
